Gósol-L’Espà: Observation of some extinguished fòssils
Spectacular hippurites, a few fòssils that podem vida in posició de vida forming an escull.
Aquests animals ja no existentixen actualment. Es van extingir fa 65 million years, at the end of the Cretaci period, juntament amb els dinosaurs.
Els hippurites són bivalves i pertanyen has an order ja extingit anomenat rudistes. Eren extraordinarily gragaris i endowed with a great potencial of creixement, pel that they will consider bioconstructors. The accumulation of thousands of individuals i dels sediments that are deposited intermingling formava grans esculls, as seen in L’Espà.
